This course is ideal for those individuals who require an intensive, broad-ranging introduction to the key principles of fire safety management and fire risk assessment methodology. With likely responsibility for fire safety at management level it will enable you to develop skills and knowledge in support of your role.
This course is aimed at those who have responsibility for undertaking fire risk assessments and who wish to receive further certification in this subject in order to demonstrate competency. Delegates will be expected to have some background knowledge of fire safety but may have little or no experience in undertaking fire risk assessments.

For students to gain an understanding of theory of combustion, fire development in ventilated and unventilated compartments and extinguishing techniques to be used when tackling compartment fires.
Explain the following: Triangle of combustion, complete and incomplete combustion Pyrolysis Flammable range, Upper Explosive Limit (UEL), Idea Mixture (IM) and Lower Explosive Limit (LEL), Over pressure, Neutral plane and Under pressure, Flashover, Backdraught, Extinguishing media and Gas cooling, indirect cooling and direct cooling extinguishing techniques.
The award is suitable for those who work, or intend to work, as:
