Some key things you’ll need to have:
- An aviation firefighter qualification (ideally current);
- A full and current driving license including an LGV license;
- A good level of fitness and health which you’ll maintain throughout your career.
Working closely with the Station Manager you’ll deliver a high quality service. Carrying out routines and tasks that ensure the safety and operational efficiency of the Airport Fire Service (AFS). You’ll be responsible for the safety and maintenance of a range of equipment and machinery, inspections and testing, as well as maintaining accurate records and writing reports.
You’ll be a key player in supporting and championing continuous improvement within the AFS and across the organisation as a whole. So it’s vital that you embrace change and take a flexible approach to working practices as well as being able to encourage and support your team in implementing changes in working practices.
Crew Managers play a vital role in the coaching and development of team members, so a real ownership of learning and building a culture of continuous improvement is critical. You’ll undertake a comprehensive training package to support you in your new role. This will enhance your technical knowledge and give you a great foundation of core management skills.
