The IFTC Celebrates 40 Years On Teesside

This September, the International Fire Training Centre is celebrating our 40th anniversary of being based on Teesside!

Staff members got celebrations off to a great start, by hosting an on-site party where they unveiled a special artwork to mark this anniversary!

The painting was created by local Darlington-based artist, Jonny Lancaster and depicts both firefighters and fire appliances, which were in use in 1981 and from the present day. The painting now stands proudly in the IFTC reception area for all visitors to enjoy!

The party was a great opportunity for staff to reminisce about their favourite memories of working at IFTC and some staff members even wore 1980s style fancy dress to celebrate this special occasion.

Everyone enjoyed some great food and drinks, as well as some foot stomping live Celtic music from The Stowes.
