Level II Fire Investigation courses coming to IFTC

Fire Investigation

At the latest International Fire Training Centre airport fire training steering group meeting, the team listened to an interesting presentation on fire investigations from Nigel Adams, former fire investigator at West Midland Fire Service.

A veteran of over 1000 fire investigations, Nigel explained about the 2017 legislation and how this affects the responsibilities and liabilities that sit with airport fire services.

The airport fire service leaders at the event agreed that there was an inconsistent approach to fire investigations and the reporting of near misses or minor incidents. Some of this has been aggravated by the reduced availability of experienced and trained investigators in some airports and some brigades.

As a result, The International Fire Training Centre will be running two Level II investigation courses in 2019. Details and dates to follow.
